The rise in energy prices and/or the indexation of wages will undoubtedly lead to a further rise in the price of a cone of fries. Up to + 10% according to the president of the Commission des friteries, Didier Mossay, a frituriste from Verviers.

Too much bad news: the Saint Andrews café closes in Verviers

An institution is closing its doors in Verviers. Returning to Place du Martyr last May, the Saint Andrews will close its doors for good this Friday. In question the too many clouds which massed above the Verviers pub.

“We told the staff last week and we started notifying all our suppliers on Monday.” There are communications that are more painful to make than others. The one that Frédéric Darimont and his partner Olivier Lopez must transmit is one of them. They made a difficult decision: to close the doors of Saint Andrews, located on Place du Martyr in Verviers.
