The neuroscientist Facundo Manes reported today through his social networks that he is “with Covid-19 pneumonia” and is interned at the Favaloro Foundation. On Twitter, the doctor linked to the UCR, said that “I am with Covid pneumonia and, on the recommendation of my doctors, I will be a few days at the Favaloro Foundation. I feel good and excellently cared for.”
Manes thanked the professionals who treat him at the medical center and remarked that “it is an honor to be part of this institution, which represents the best of Argentina.” He considered, in that sense, that “it is exciting to recognize René’s legacy at all times and in each attitude.”
He also thanked “so many messages of love and good wishes.” He stressed that the pandemic “is a long marathon and we still have a long way to go. Let’s not loosen up. Let’s continue taking care of ourselves.”
The neuroscientist approached the political environment in recent years and established links with the UCR, to the point that his brother Gastón is on the Maximiliano Abad list for the election of authorities of the Buenos Aires radicalism, compared to that of the mayor of San Isidro, Gustavo Posse. Manes was tempted to run for a national deputy candidate for Cambiemos in 2017.
