After bank space at Inter |
Clear starting eleven announcement from Goretzka!
Clear starting eleven announcement from Leon Goretzka (27)!
The Bayern star does not want to sit on the bench against Stuttgart (Saturday, 3.30 p.m. / Sky) and against Barcelona (Tuesday, 9 p.m. / Amazon Prime Video).
After beating Inter 2-0 in the catacombs, he made it clear to Milan’s San Siro: “Now I’m ready to start.”
The midfielder was on the bench for 61 minutes against Inter. Marcel Sabitzer (28) was allowed to start again after Julian Nagelsmann (35) praised him the day before.
Because Goretzka actually wanted to return to the starting XI for the first time seven and a half weeks after his knee surgery, Nagelsmann discussed the bank position with him.
Goretzka: “It was explained to me in an understandable way. I think the jump after eight, nine minutes against Union would have been a bit big. Now it’s been a few minutes more. That’s what you do when you’re building up properly after an injury.”
A week ago, Goretzka celebrated his comeback in the DFB Cup at Viktoria Köln (5-0) with a goal. Now he has big starting eleven claims – especially on Tuesday against Barcelona and his ex-colleague Robert Lewandowski (34)!
