The Argentinean Lionel Messi, the Paris Saint-Germain player, believes that his country is not a candidate for the next World Cup title in Qatar.
The Argentine national team added a new title to its coffers after defeating Italy 3-0 in the “Final” or “Finalsma” match, which brings together the champions of the European and South American continents.
After the victory, Messi said in comments published by the Spanish “Marca”: “What we lived here was beautiful, we knew it would be a good match.”
He continued, “We continue to grow, and this is what we are looking for. We are working day after day to further improve.”
He continued, “We still say that we are not the best candidates to win the World Cup, but we will fight against anyone, because this team is full of hope and has clear goals.”
“We must continue to improve, we now have important matches in September, we need to work in order to reach the best possible way in our first appearance in the World Cup.”
Lionel Messi raised his tally of titles with Argentina to two, bringing the number of Messi titles in his career to 40.
Argentina has gone 32 games in a row without losing since losing to Brazil in the 2019 Copa America semi-finals.
