Larsson polishes up Schalke!

The (expensive) celebrity days of Raúl, Huntelaar and Co. are long gone at Schalke…

But now royal blue is suddenly faced with the obligation of a real star – at least as far as the name is concerned!

According to BILD information, the clubless Jordan Larsson (25), son of Sweden legend Henrik Larsson (50), should complete the medical check on Friday and then sign it.

Finally a big name again: LARSSON polishes Schalke up!

The name is well known in world football: Papa Larsson played for Celtic Glasgow, FC Barcelona and Manchester United, among others. He won national titles in five countries (Sweden, Scotland, Netherlands, Spain and England). In 2006 he even won the Champions League with Barça.

His son should now give the Pott-Klub a little more shine. Because in addition to the famous name, Larsson also has great star potential. With a market value of 8 million euros, the Swedish international (7 games, 1 goal) is currently the second most valuable Schalke behind Amine Harit (25/10 million euros). A year ago, his top estimate was even 15 million euros.

► Good for the newcomer: Larsson terminated his contract with Spartak Moscow on July 1 and is therefore free of charge. He scored 27 goals in 83 games for the Russia club. He had his strongest time alongside S04 newcomer Alex Kral (24) – in 56 joint appearances he delivered 33 of his 36 Spartak scorer points.

► Like his father Henrik, Jordan is a striker. He can play both on the wing and in the center as a second striker. Should be the urgently needed alternative to Sebastian Polter (31), Simon Terodde (34) and Marius Bülter (29).

One thing is clear: Larsson will be the focus of attention immediately at Schalke. That might not be so bad for the (so far) slightly weakening offensive trio…
