In Finland, the Latvian national ice hockey team filed a criminal case for a bookmaker on the game uniform during the World Cup. About it informs Evening newspaper.
“The application was submitted on Monday. The preliminary investigation report will be filed and we will look into the matter. At the moment, nothing has been done, except for receiving an application for initiating a criminal case, ”said Arto Partanen, Commissioner of the Finnish Police Department.

The fact is that on the form of the Latvian national team there was an advertisement for the Estonian betting company Olybet. According to Finnish laws, only Veikkaus, the Finnish national betting agency, can advertise gambling in the country, foreign companies are prohibited from doing so.
According to Partanen, he had not previously encountered such complaints. “This is the only case of its kind. I’ve never encountered this before. We will look into this matter in the coming days and weeks. This is not on the list of priorities, ”added the police commissioner.
The World Championship was held in Riga and Tampere. The Latvian team played most of the matches at home, but the semi-finals and the match for third place were played in Finland. At the last tournament, the Latvian national team for the first time in its history won world championship medals – in the bronze medal match, the Latvians beat the US team.
