A fire broke out in the bed department of a furniture store in Bietigheim-Bissingen, keeping emergency services busy for hours. Even a neighboring medieval festival had to be cancelled.
Just a few minutes before the shop opened, a fire broke out in a furniture store in Bietigheim-Bissingen (Ludwigsburg district) on Sunday, which was open for business.
According to the police, the building could be evacuated and all employees got to safety in good time. Three people were slightly injured.
More than 250 firefighters from twelve municipalities in the district of Ludwigsburg, a factory fire brigade and the Heilbronn professional fire brigade fought the major fire on Sunday, which probably broke out in the bed department of the furniture store. According to the police, the damage was worth millions.

The roof of the furniture store also collapsed. Because the fire also resulted in a large cloud of smoke, a medieval festival in a neighboring district had to be canceled in the afternoon and cleared by the police after the fire brigade had measured the pollutants.
Firefighters had the fire under control by late afternoon. The firefighters initially did not provide any information about the cause of the fire.
