Two workers fell from a scaffolding located more than ten meters high Monday afternoon in Sovimont, in the town of Floreffe, indicate the firefighters of the Val de Sambre area, confirming information from several media. One of the two victims was unconscious when she was taken to hospital.
The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on the construction site of a house on rue Maurice-Toussaint. The workers reportedly fell when a crane hit the wall adjoining the scaffolding they were standing on. One of the two men had difficulty breathing after the accident. The other lost consciousness and was transported to Marie Curie Hospital in Charleroi in a condition deemed critical. The police went to the scene and an investigation was opened by the labor auditor.
