Food shortages: Kim Jong Un urges Koreans to cut back on food food crisis Kim Jong-un asks North Koreans to eat less until 2025

Seoul: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has called on the country’s citizens to exercise restraint in eating until 2025. The announcement is that the country will face severe food shortages by 2025 and to reduce fodder for the next four years to address it. Officials say the border is unlikely to open before 2025.

North Korea closed its border with China in January last year following the Kovid expansion. China is their largest trading partner. According to reports, North Korean officials have said that people will face famine until the border opens in 2025.

At the same time, according to a report released by the media portal RFA, people have said that “the food situation in the country is already like an emergency and they will not be able to survive this coming winter.”
