A time envisaged following the request of certain clubs, the Algerian football championship season 2020-2021 will not change formula.
So decided by the federal office of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF). Indeed, several clubs had asked Algerian football authorities to review the Ligue 1 competition system due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Last August, the clubs unanimously opted for a 20-club, 38-day championship. I do not understand today the turnaround of certain formations who want another change, claiming the health situation linked to Covid-19. No country in the world has changed its competitive system because of the pandemic. We have to adapt to the situation ”, declared, Wednesday, Abdelkrim Medouar, first person in charge of the Professional Football League, in remarks relayed by APS.
Finally, the FAF made the decision not to change the formula, the LFP having only received the desire for change from four clubs.
The new season will start in a week with 38 days.
