Mexico City, December 1 (However) .– The Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSC-CdMx) apprehended three alleged implicated in the murder of the French businessman Baptiste Jacques Daniel Lormand y his partner, Luis Orozco. The detainees allegedly killed the businessman to steal at least five bottles of alcoholic drinks worth one million pesos.

According to the first reports, the arrests were made derived from two search warrants that were executed jointly by the SSC, the Attorney General’s Office (GF) of the city and the Secretary of the Navy (Semar), in the Magdalena Contreras Mayor’s Office.

One of the searches was carried out at an address on Calle Lirio, in the “El Toro” neighborhood. According to the information, it is believed that it was used as a warehouse for a criminal group dedicated to the high-end liquor theft.

Along with the detainees, bottles of high-end alcohol, various substances and firearms were seized, which were made available to the authorities. The three men were transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Prosecutor’s Office, located on Avenida Jardín.

The Secretary of Security of Mexico City, Omar Garcia Harfuchsaid in an interview for Formula Group that the homicides of the Franco-Mexican citizen and his partner were not derived from kidnapping or some kind of extortion, but would be related to the theft of the five bottles, valued at around one million pesos.

García Harfuch commented to journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva that the alleged murderers had deceived the victims by closing an alleged deal to purchase the merchandise, however, it was a deception to keep it without paying.

He assured that this is a modus operandi which has also been observed in the Venustiano Carranza and Iztapalapa mayors. This consists of buying and selling high-end alcohol products, and although the sellers of these products are attacked, they rarely end up with fatalities.

“It’s not because of the alcohol bottles, there are modus operandi in Venustiano and Iztapalapa that by buying and selling they always attack the sellers, but they do not always end up as fatalities, ”the head of the SSC-CdMx commented to the media.

Yesterday, authorities in Mexico City detained someone involved in the murder of French businessman Baptiste Jacques Daniel Lormand.

It was elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security who found the subject in the Magdalena Contreras Mayor’s Office. “With this arrest the line of investigation previously presented at a press conference is confirmed. It will be reported later, ”said Omar García Harfuch on his Twitter account.

Baptiste Jacques Daniel Lormand, the businessman with dual nationality (French and Mexican) who was reported missing in Polanco, would have been murdered by people who sought to steal the high-end liquors that he sold, according to information from the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSC-CdMx).

“On November 27, the person who goes by the name of Baptiste Jacques Daniel Lormand, 45, of dual nationality, French and Mexican, was reported by his spouse as missing or absent, saying that they saw him leave for the last time on November 26 when he left his home in Polanco, ”Secretary Omar García Harfuch described in a press conference on November 29.

On November 28, two bodies, tied with their hands, were found in the Tlalpan Mayor’s Office. One matched Jacques’s description; the other was his partner.

“There is no indication that it was extortion, kidnapping or collection of the floor. The main line of investigation is in the business or activity of the deceased, oriented to the sale of high-end liquors. There are lines of investigation that indicate that they wanted to steal the merchandise that they were offering for sale. It appears that bottles of high commercial value were stripped away, ”Harfuch said.

After the news about the murder of the businessman and his partner was released, Polanco neighbors, friends and acquaintances of the Frenchman marched to protest the crime. The demonstration took place on November 30.
