Romania’s producer price index rose for the eighth consecutive month in July, data from the National Institute of Statistics showed on Thursday.
The producer price index grew by 98.13% year-on-year in July, after rising by 85.11% year-on-year in June, according to the German news agency.
Prices in the local market rose by 35.15% on an annual basis in July, and prices in the non-local market increased by 63.11%.
For major industrial groups, energy prices jumped 22.31% y/y in July. The prices of durable consumer goods increased by 33.6%, while the prices of non-durable consumer goods increased by 31.5%.
The prices of intermediate and capital goods rose by 31.17% and 11.1%. 4%, respectively.
On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 31.2% in July.
