Did you know that in Tuscany there are very hot and free thermal pools? Here is the complete guide to where to find them! 🙂
Can we say how lucky we are to have such wonders of nature in Italy? Let’s start with my favourites!
BATHS OF SAINT PHILIP – WHITE WHALE
The steaming hot thermal water that flows from the rock, the incredible passage shaped by the water over the centuries, the warm blue pools that meet the green and icy water of the stream, only the woods and the animals around us: what can I say! I think I had one of the most relaxing mornings ever!
Have you ever bathed in the woods in hot water? An incredible emotion and an incomparable peace and relaxation!
– Early in the morning during the week is the best time to enjoy this magical place: you risk finding yourself completely alone, as happened to us!
– Bring some rock shoes to move among the rocks with more agility and safety
– Bring more towels in winter: although the strong heat of the water and the forest that surrounds it create a warm micro climate even in winter, when you get out of the water in winter, you will need to dry and dress rather quickly. You will need a towel to dry yourself off and one to cover you up to take off your swimsuit and get dressed again: the more adventurous go back to the car with a towel and wet swimsuit and change there 🙂 You evaluate according to the temperatures!

SAN CASCIANO DEI BAGNI – the Vasconi – Thermal Fountain
We can bathe in the old tubs, people used to bathe here already in Roman times and it is here that the incredible discovery was made which experts from all over the world are working on: coins and bronze statues from 2400 years ago still perfectly preserved! They can be reached by car and with a 10-minute walk.
TERME DI SATURNIA – Cascate del Mulino
Always very crowded, in the adjacent bar/restaurant they have even created showers and toilets! The parking lot is very close to the natural pools.
BAGNO VIGNONI – Park of the Mills
Judge the video 😉 They can be reached with a short climb or descent (depending on whether you park the car below following the signs or in the village).
THERMAL BATHS OF PETRIOLO
You park next to the thermal baths and they are usually quite crowded: they are the closest to Siena!
