In the quarter-finals, the 19-year-old could then take on Alexander Zverev (after the Victory against Brandon Nakashima now in the round of 16 against outsiders Bernabé Zapata Miralles/Spain).

Alcaraz presented himself at his best against Korda after winning in round two almost lost to his compatriot Albert Ramos-Viñolas (6:1, 6:7, 5:7, 7:6, 6:4) – including a saved match point.
