The Capitales de Capitales announced on Friday a major addition to the workforce for the next season.
Outfielder Jhalan Jackson has signed a contract for the 2021 season, formalizing his return to the organization. In the space of fifty games during the 2019 season, Jackson had an immediate impact with the team, both at bat and defense.
Manager Patrick Scalabrini is delighted with Jhalan Jackson’s return to his team: “He is our most exciting and spectacular player, at bat and defensive. Jhalan is the best hitter in our roster. I expect him to be one of the best players in the league. We will try to build our offensive around him. He will undoubtedly be a big producer of points ”.
Released from the AA branch of the New York Yankees in the spring of 2019, Jackson joined the team in June and immediately entered the heart of the offensive lineup. In the 2019 season, the original Floridian had hit the long ball at a frantic pace (1 circuit for every 19 plate appearances). His 13 circuits (in 58 games) earned him 4th place in the former Can-Am League. He also ranked among the best players in several other offensive chapters (Product Points, OBP, SLG, OPS).
The imposing outfielder also stood out on defense. In the outfield, he had repeatedly stolen long hits from the opponent. Jackson had also frustrated several opposing riders who had dared to challenge his cannon arm.
Scalabrini also mentions that Jhalan Jackson will arrive more motivated than ever.
“In 2019, the first few weeks were complicated for him due to his ischio (leg) injury. Once restored he was unstoppable. He wants to arrive in a form that will allow him to be at this level to give himself a chance to be spotted by the organizations of adults. “
