The local residents told The Epoch Times reporter the day before that a teacher of the No. 4 Primary School in Sixian was infected with the virus. Teachers were taken away and isolated. Some people said that there was an urgent shortage of medical and other supplies in the local area.
Sixian County, Suzhou is the hardest hit area in this round of epidemic in Anhui.
According to the official figures of the Communist Party of Anhui, on July 2, there were 61 new confirmed cases in the province, 60 in Sixian, and 231 new asymptomatic infections, including 228 in Sixian.
On July 1, the 34 newly confirmed cases in Anhui were all in Si County, and 101 of the 101 new asymptomatic infections were in Suzhou. From June 26 to July 2, Anhui Province reported a total of 105 confirmed cases and 467 asymptomatic infections.
Sixian is the northeastern gateway of Anhui, bordering Xuzhou and Suqian in Jiangsu, and there are many inter-provincial exchanges.
