One of the most popular games of 2021 could have a sequel
Released in September 2021, Tales of Arise was without a doubt one of the best-received titles of the past year. The return of this cult franchise: a mysterious trademark has just been registered, suggesting a sequel, an extension or a spin-off.
The stories take what they thought they took
The least we can say is that the Tale of saga has a lot of background: started in 1995 with Tales of Phantasia, it quickly established itself in the Japanese RPG scene to give rise to multiple sequels. However, it took five years for the franchise to return in 2021 with Tales of Arise, a more action-oriented formula and, therefore, the reception was very successful.
With a good 87% average on Metacritic, the game received a score of 17/20 in our »»» columns. – we can say that this episode was a great success. With quite nice gameplay and a relevant sci-fi background, many players keep fond memories of it… and it is very possible that they will be in for a surprise.

Is a sequel or DLC in the works?
The information has just been made public: Bandai Namco has registered the trademark “Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn”.without any other official statement. A gesture that inevitably arouses attention and opens the ball to various theories.
The first is that of a hyphenated extension: The downside is that producer Yosuke Tomizawa admitted a while back that Tales of Arise is a complete game that won’t have to contain any DLC. Of course, he has had plenty of time to backtrack on that decision.
The second theory is that of a sequel, plain and simple. Given the success of the game, it wouldn’t be surprising if Bandai-Namco wanted to expand it with a Tales of Arise 2 of sorts, rather than a new Tales of with a new universe.
At last, Obviously, the possibility of a spin-off should not be ruled out: there is talk of a mobile game based on Tales of Arise, a possibility, yes, quite relevant. In any case, we remember that the Game Awards 2022 ceremony will be held on Thursday night and will be full of announcements: perhaps this presentation of the brand at this time of year is not trivial.
