Gangwon FC advances to Final A for the first time in 3 years… Ulsan and Jeonbuk win side by side

Gangwon FC, a professional soccer team, has successfully advanced to Final A, where the top six K-League 1 teams compete for the first time in three years.

Gangwon won the home match against Jeju at Songam Sports Town in Chuncheon 2-1 thanks to Kim Young-bin’s two goals.

Gangwon, which scored 45 points by winning the last match of the regular round, switched places with Suwon FC and moved from 7th to 6th, returning to Final A for the first time in three years since 2019.

Suwon FC lost 2-0 at Ulsan away at Ulsan Munsu Stadium at the same time.

As a result, Suwon FC, which stayed at 44 points, moved down to 7th and headed to the Final B.

Suwon FC, which was 6 goals ahead of Gangwon in the number of goals, had a high possibility of advancing to the Final A for the second year in a row just by a draw with Ulsan, but could not overcome Ulsan’s wall.

In K League 1, 12 teams play up to round 33, then the top 6 teams from Group A and the bottom 6 teams from Group B will advance to the final round.

Teams that advance to Final A compete to win the league and advance to the Asian Champions League.

On the other hand, the teams in the Final B have to compete for relegation.

In particular, from this year, the number of promoted teams will be changed from 1+1 system to 1+2 system, and the 12th place team will be automatically relegated, and the 10th and 11th teams will play the K-League 2 team for promotion play-offs.

The K-League 1 final round starts on October 1.

The Korea Professional Football Federation will soon confirm and announce the match schedule.

They defeated Ulsan and Suwon, Jeollabuk-do, who competed for the lead with Ulsan 3-2, and entered the final round while maintaining a 5 point difference.

Jeonbuk national striker Jo Gyu-seong returned to overthrow after being discharged from Sangmu and reported a comeback goal after 3 games, and with his 14th goal, he followed Jeju Jumin-gyu, the leader in scoring, by one goal.

Suwon fell from 9th to 11th, behind Daegu and Gimcheon, which won the day.

Daegu won the home match 3-0 against FC Seoul, and Gimcheon won the home match against Incheon 1-0 with Lee Young-jae’s theater goal in extra time in the second half.

Seongnam drew 1-1 with Pohang.
