Big success at the box office in 1995, Cursed grass lends itself to the scene, as the text confronts the characters with tasty situations. Laurent and Loli are happy in their southern house, until Marijo arrives, his van has broken down in front of their house. “Hitting the inlay”, she falls in love with Loli, until Laurent realizes that she loves his wife and vice versa…
Fans of the film will recognize themselves in it and novices will discover a text that is still relevant in the current LGBT movement. Sunlight and the care given to the decor and costumes serve the characters in Hélène Zidi’s transposition. The trio, accompanied by Laurent’s best friend in love with Marijo, twirls around until the famous “nude” scene, a good moment of sweet madness.
We wondered how Hélène Zidi was going to get away with it. She succeeds brilliantly, in a good-natured atmosphere. Mila Michael sets the tone from the start, her talents as a dancer, singer, and actress working wonders. His flamenco permeates the whole room. In lively and spontaneous ingénue, she takes possession of the stage and takes the audience on a whirlwind. She is very well supported by Manon Gauthier, Jordan Topenas and Paul Valy. Removed, family, in the tradition of the Parisian boulevard but with the southern sauce, this Cursed grass joyful and optimistic is a real ray of sunshine.
