The police of Basse-Meuse had a lot to do this weekend, near Visé. Following a general brawl indeed, about forty people rebelled against the police who intervened.
For some unknown reason, a fight broke out following a ball that was taking place on the Allée de France, in the center of Visé. In total, more than 40 people were hitting each other… Warned, the police intervened but, quickly, the people turned against the police. Faced with the large number of violent people, the patrol called on other areas for reinforcement. About twenty police officers from 8 different areas therefore arrived on site. In the revolt, stones and barriers were thrown at the police. While none of the officers were injured, three vehicles were damaged.
Several arrests were finally made but only one person was referred to the Liège prosecutor’s office. He is a Visétois in his thirties, he will appear in court soon.
