Generali provides self-isolation benefits of IDR 2 billion for customers affected by Covid-19

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. PT Asuransi Jiwa Generali Indonesia provides special protection for independent isolation due to Covid-19. This protection is provided to Generali customers who are positive for Covid-19 with mild or no symptoms but require Self-isolation.

“Customers who need independent isolation still have to fulfill their needs for treatment, vitamins, medicines, laboratory tests and the treating doctor so that they can recover quickly and be able to return to their activities. This is where Generali’s role is to continue to accompany customers during difficult times, ”said Generali Indonesia CEO Edy Tuhirman in a written statement on Thursday (18/2).

Based on data from the Indonesian Hospital Association (PERSI), of around 2,900 hospitals in Indonesia, only 490 have complete facilities for isolation and intensive care for patients infected with Covid-19. 1 This is what also underlies Generali to provide the benefits of the Mandiri Isolation facility.

More specifically, this benefit provides protection for customers for claims for treatment and treatment costs which include the cost of PCR, laboratory, doctor, medicines, vitamins and supplements during self-isolation.

Both isolation at home and non-hospital government referral facilities with a period of up to 31 April 2021. Benefits of Self Isolation are provided by Generali with a total claim value of a maximum of Rp 2 billion throughout the program period.

Currently Generali has paid claims related to COVID-19 amounting to IDR 43 billion, which trend is quite increasing. Based on Generali’s claim data, out of 370 claims worth IDR 43 billion, 75 percent of them occurred in the last quarter of 2020.
