Genesis introduces the brand’s first convertible concept, the ‘X (X) Convertible’, and presents new possibilities in electric vehicle design.

Genesis announced on the 15th (local time) that it introduced the X Convertible, the third model of the X Concept series and the brand’s first convertible concept, in Malibu, California, USA.

Like the ‘X’ and ‘X Speedium Coupe’, which were previously unveiled in March last year and April this year, the X Convertible contains Genesis’ design philosophy and inspiration for the future.

In particular, by utilizing the characteristics of a convertible with a roof that opens and closes, it suggested the design direction of Genesis’ electric vehicle, which is ‘a driving experience that communicates with the natural environment’.

The X-Convertible expresses Genesis’ unique design language, ‘dynamic elegance’, and at the same time, as a convertible, it has a hard top moonroof (a glass panel on the ceiling that allows sunlight or moonlight to enter the inside of the car to feel open even if the hard top of the convertible is not opened). It provides a great sense of openness.

At the front, two long rows of headlamps that reinterpret Genesis’ unique crest grille catch the eye, and the long bonnet on the side, short front overhang, relaxed dash to axle, and long wheelbase provide a sense of weight and comfort at the same time. do.

The wheel is an aero dish type and is designed to quickly cool the brake heat while driving by applying Genesis’ unique G-Matrix pattern.

The interior space inherited the design direction of the two models of the previously released X concept series, and applied a cockpit in which the control system and display surround the driver.

The interior and exterior drew attention by using colors that reflect Korean beauty and emotion. Two colors inspired by the roofs of traditional Korean houses, such as ’tile navy’ and ‘dancheong orange’, were applied to the interior to complete a unique atmosphere. As for the exterior color, ‘Crane White’, a white color with pearls inspired by the shape of a crane, was applied.

Genesis plans to display the ‘X Convertible’ at the LA Auto Show on the 18th, along with major electric vehicle lineups such as the GV70 electrified model, the G80 electrified model, and the GV60.
