According to the Geneva courts, the detainees of Champ-Dollon would be too easily put in jail by the guards. Two judgments of the Administrative Chamber find excessive severity on the part of the prison authority. In one case, the judges ruled that a prisoner sentenced to three days in the vault following a fight did not deserve such a sentence, because it was not certain that he had actually beaten his fellow prisoner. The sanction was therefore canceled a posteriori.

Turning to the second case, the justice partially challenged the decision of Champ-Dollon to sanction a detainee by two days, relates “Time”. The man was accused of having called a guard a “jester”. The judgment indicates that the punishment imposed is too severe. In both cases, appeals could only be filed after the fact.
