Germany alarmed by rising morbidity ahead of planned relief – Abroad – News

According to the Robert Koha Institute (RKI), the German disease control service, on Sunday, 7,676 new infections were confirmed in the country last day, up from one and a half thousand a week ago.

The seven-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 population has increased from 57.7 to 60.2 during the day.

Experts attribute the increase in infections to the spread of new, more contagious strains of the virus.

Politicians are considering a higher priority for vaccination for educators, and a decision could be made earlier this week.
