Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to play with his brothers and he doesn’t care where that happens. Antetokounmpo made some interesting comments about how to bring the family back together on the court, and Bucks fans couldn’t be particularly happy about them.
Antetokounmpo, 25, said he would like to play with his brothers in “Milwaukee, LA, wherever.”
This is probably just a harmless comment. Antetokounmpo currently plays in Milwaukee with his brother Thanasis, so money would be the easiest goal for everyone to play together. His other brother, Kostas, plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, which is why he mentioned LA as a travel destination.
Still, it’s interesting – or maybe refreshing – to see a player talk openly about playing for another team. Antetokounmpo does not explicitly say that he will leave the money, but it is unusual for players to speak openly about such things. Most players would pledge steadfast loyalty to their current franchise. Antetokounmpo was honest.
None of this means that Antetokounmpo will surely go to any team that signs or acts for his brothers if he becomes a free agent. But you know that teams will now use Kostas and Thanasis Antetokounmpo as negotiating chips.
