Veteran French striker, Olivier Giroud, striker of the Italian team AC Milan, succeeded in achieving a historic achievement at the level of the French national team, after he scored against Austria, in the match that the roosters won by a clean double, in the fifth round of Group A of the European Nations League.
Giroud scored France’s second goal against Austria, with a wonderful header to the right of the goalkeeper, in the 65th minute of the match.
According to the Opta statistics network, Giroud became the oldest player to score with the French national team in all competitions, at the age of 35 years and 357 days, surpassing the previous record of 35 years and 287 days in 1959 against the Spanish national team, Roger Markey.
The Milan striker is also two goals away from equaling the historical number of Thierry Henry as the most goalscoring player in the French national team shirt with 51 goals.
