Munich It is no coincidence that the first trip abroad of the new IntelBoss Pat Gelsinger to Germany this week. The manager is looking for a location in Europe for the next factory of the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturer. The chances that the US group will invest billions in this country are good, Gelsinger told Handelsblatt: “There is a lot to be said for Germany.”
Gelsinger met with Minister of Economic Affairs Peter Altmaier (CDU) and Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU), among others. There were also talks with major customers such as BMW– Chef Oliver Zipse, Telecom CEO Timotheus Höttges and other high-ranking German CEOs on his agenda.
