The Minister of the Interior, José Elice, urged this Saturday that the public to respect health regulations during the holidays at the end of the year such as Christmas and New Year, in order to avoid more infections of COVID-19.
In this sense, the head of the Interior sector asked not to attend the Beaches because there will be crowds and it could become an infectious focus. For this reason, he announced that the Executive will be proposing measures that would be published this week to avoid these cases.
“In principle, no one should playa. On these holidays they will want to go, but the best thing is not to go, the specific provision should be published this week. If people are allowed to go, people will enter the playa. One of the great problems that the PNP has had has been the beach and it opens, everyone is going to enter and that is how it has been, we have to take care of ourselves”, Declared the minister to RPP TV.
On the other hand, he explained that during those days, December 24, 25, 31 and January 1, agents of the National Police of Peru (PNP) will be in the vicinity of shopping centers to reduce cases of citizen insecurity.
In addition, he said that in the second line will be the members of the Armed Forces, who will also contribute to security. However, the minister specified that it is expected that extreme measures will not be reached.
“The PNP is in a first cordon around shopping centers to reduce cases of citizen insecurity, assaults, and so on. In the second cordon will be the Armed Forces, which will be in a dissuasive way, it is expected that they will not have to intervene. It is not a threat, but it must be remembered that the Police and the Armed Forces could carry out interventions”, He added.
“During these days there will be a meticulous control, after the New Year’s party people go to the streets, that is the custom, we hope it does not happen. Therefore, there will be a certain rigor in control to avoid crowds“, Held.
