Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi celebrated the graduation of the twelfth batch of university students, which included 200 male and female students holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees in various scientific disciplines.

The graduation ceremony, which was held at the St. Regis Saadiyat Hotel, was attended by Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to His Highness the President – Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and Professor Alain Talon, Member of the University’s Board of Trustees and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Sorbonne University in Paris, and Prof. Silvia Serrano, Rector of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and a number of senior officials, members of the academic and administrative staff, and graduates’ families.

Zaki Nusseibeh extended his sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, who continues to provide generous support to Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi in his belief that education and culture are the mainstay of economic growth and the well-being of society. He also thanked and appreciated To His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, for his generous sponsorship of the graduation ceremony.

He said: “Our celebration this year coincides with the fifteenth anniversary of the founding of the university, which has become an important and distinctive cultural and educational institution, which enhances Abu Dhabi’s progress towards achieving its goal of achieving a leading position in the academic, scientific and cultural fields.”

For his part, Professor Alain Talon congratulated the graduate students on this academic success in light of the difficult circumstances imposed by the Corona pandemic, praising the efforts of the faculty members that contributed to the continuation of the educational process and the preservation of the quality of education.

For her part, Professor Silvia Serrano said: “Today we celebrate the fruits of the efforts and success of male and female graduates.”
