The Marc Anthony impersonator was in charge of closing the grand finale of “I am“. A program that started after 10:30 pm and had the double of Axl Rose as responsible for being the first finalist to appear before the judges and the public to get the votes of the audience and consecrate himself as the best imitator.
In this grand finale, the two aforementioned participants and the rest of the six finalists, which were made up of Steve Perry, Luis Fonsi, José Feliciano and Brian Johnson, performed songs by their artists that they personified in the format called mirror. In this way, the audience could compare the performance of the impersonator and the original.
An evening that was also emotional, since “Yo Soy” showed the path of each contestant to reach the final and that, after their presentations, the production of the Chilevisión program had an emotional message from the relatives of each imitator to give them encouragement in this final instance. A surprise that led to the double of Axl Rose will break live and release a sincere cry. The same happened with Fermín Opazo (Marc Anthony), who cried when he saw the greeting of his family.
Nicolás Cid prevailed as the best imitator of “Yo Soy”
It was right after their final onstage performance of “Yo Soy” that Jean Philippe Cretton and Millaray Viera released the results of the vote. At 00:43 hours, the notary Orlando Cerda arrived at the study to deliver the envelope with the results.
“We are going to start with sixth place in the competition,” said Jean Philippe Cretton. With 9.52% of the votes, Axl Rose he was the one with the least preferences of the six participants. Luis Fonsi and Brian Johnson followed. In third place was the impersonator of José Feliciano (18.71%).
Finally, With practically a quarter of the votes, Steve Perry beat Marc Anthony and he was the best imitator of “I am”. Nicolás Cid achieved a total of 25.51% of the preferences against the 22.52% obtained by Fermín Opazo.
