Gravelines-Dunkerque lost by 41 points (111-70) for their first away game, in Roanne on Tuesday. After the meeting, John David Jackson shook his troops in the locker room.

Everything had however started well, Friday during the first day at home, with a comfortable success against Boulogne-Levallois (83-71). But four days later, BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque took the thunder in Roanne for their first trip of the Betclic ELITE season. After a defeat of 41 points (111-70), there is reason to give up. But JD Jackson is starting to have experience in this area, after the -53 (69-122) and -52 (48-100) suffered in Monaco and Limoges in 2021. In the locker room after the match, coach Franco -Canadian immediately wanted to remobilize his troops. The northern club shares this post-match:

“I’ll tell you one thing. We better have the same fucking energy they had today at our next home game. After that we go on the move (for two matches). The next two weeks are going to be very, very, very tough. Ok, they made very complicated shots, we were surprised, but in the second half, (we left) backdoors, etc. Of course they had a very good pre-season, they were all there… There was only one way for us to exist in this game and we gave it up. No concentration… They were totally concentrated, we weren’t at all. In this league, nothing is easy, believe me! It’s a battle every game and the team that wins the physical battle, dominates the rebounds, forces the ball drops, ends up winning the games because they have the pace and the confidence. I told you before the game, these are not words in the wind, it’s the only way to exist in this league! It’s not like other championships. If any are new to this league, this game is your alert. It was the same last year, we lost 50 points in Limoges. These are things that cannot happen at home. »

As you will have understood, a reaction is expected for the next match, Saturday against Dijon, a team with two wins in two matches.

“We have two days of training. We were interested in being the team we saw last Friday rather than tonight’s team. We will have time to have a structured game, to learn to play together, but tonight it is unacceptable. In the next game, victory is mandatory. »

Players are therefore warned.
