Recently, the multipurpose room of the Espace Lawrence was copiously filled with an audience ready to vibrate to the performances of students from 3rd 7, 3rd 8 from Gaston-Doumergue college and eleven second students from Lucie-Aubrac high school participating in a theater workshop . Céline Bahy, a college professor, explains this project: “The common link to connect all these students seemed to me to be tragedy. With Nathalie Quissac, head of the theater workshop in high school, we offered our students to read many tragedies and then choose one and to appropriate it, that is to say to take out the scene where the tragedy is really expressed, to rewrite it in a modern way” We can say that the goal was achieved because the pupils, in groups, were able to talk about Antignone or the play The Flies with their words and their perfectly tuned staging. They were responsible for everything, decor, staging, dialogues and they delivered!
A beautiful show that will leave all these students with wonderful memories and a great collaboration between teachers who carried out this project perfectly.
