Gaming laptops costing less than 1,000 euros are quite rare, especially those integrating the latest processors and graphics cards, and when that happens, you have to expect compromises in design and display quality. But this is not something that should a priori bother gamers who are primarily looking for power and fluidity. In this respect, the Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 displays an excellent performance/price ratio now that it only costs 999 euros at Boulanger.
In the gaming laptop market, we are better known about Lenovo’s Legion range, but the Chinese manufacturer recently launched the LOQ range which maintains performance while ignoring a few aesthetic details. This is obviously intended to bring prices down and make these devices more accessible for gamers on a limited budget. This Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 with an RTX 4050 is therefore more affordable than most of its competitors, and even more so with this reduction of 200 euros at Boulanger.

Where to buy
Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 at the best price?
A gaming laptop that prefers to go to the essentials
As indicated above, the Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 is a laptop that ignores aesthetic frills in order to drive prices down, so we have a common, and even very common, chassis. This plastic shell with the LOQ logo is not a model of beauty and almost nothing allows it to be identified at a glance. The connectivity offers a correct set with a USB-C port, three USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, an Ethernet port and a jack port. Too bad for the absence of the 2.1 standard on the HDMI port and an SD card reader.
On the 15.6-inch screen side, we have an IPS-LCD panel in Full HD definition (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) which supports a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz. Unsurprisingly, the colorimetry is rather dull with coverage of 60% of the sRGB space and 42.7% of the DCI-P3 space, the brightness also does not perform miracles since it struggles to reach the manufacturer’s promise of 350 cd/m² . An acceptable sacrifice to be able to get your hands on such a configuration for less than 1,000 euros.
Monster power in the chassis
There are several configurations of the Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 and this one has an RTX 4050 graphics card. This is one of Nvidia’s latest generation GPUs and its performance is comparable to that of the RTX 3060, in short, this graphics card can run all recent games in Full HD. However, you have to make some compromises in terms of graphics on the latest hits to maintain good fluidity but you can still benefit from Nvidia technologies such as ray-tracing and DLSS 3.
As for the processor, it is an Intel Core i7-13620H with 10 cores and can reach a turbo frequency of 4.9 GHz, it is assisted by 16 GB of DDR5 RAM to ensure multitasking. For a laptop under 1,000 euros, it’s very good. However, thermal management is not perfect due to the plastic chassis which makes it more difficult to evacuate heat and the ventilation which can become very noisy. Finally, the battery life is only 4 to 5 hours in office use, which is not surprising for a gaming laptop.
