Dozens of people evaded the police control this Sunday and They entered Los Pescadores beach in the Chorrillos district, despite the restrictions decreed by the Government to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
This was reported by residents of the area, who argued that these people ignored the provisions of the health authority and disobeyed the officers of the National Police in the place.
RPP News could verify that on that beach several groups of adults and children bathed under the tourist pier. None of these people respected social distancing or used masks.
Police station staff Chorrillos reached this point together with members of the Salvage Unit to remove these people and reminded them that the restriction on the beaches was extended until January 17.
According to the residents of the place, this scenario has been registered in the last days since morning hours and that, Despite patrolling by the Rescue Unit, people return to the beaches after being removed.
The Pescadores beach was left dirty with food remains, plates and disposable bottles, in addition to bottles of alcoholic beverages.
The head of the Ministerial Cabinet, Violeta Bermúdez, indicated to RPP News this Sunday that the restriction of entry to beaches was extended until January 17, because the Government seeks to prevent these spaces from becoming points of agglomeration.
“We evaluated that the beaches could be a potential contagion space if we are outdoors, in groups, consuming food and drinking drinks. The use of the mask and physical distancing are neglected“Bermúdez said.
