At least two people have been shot dead in a mall in Idaho, USA.

At least four other people were injured in the incident in Boise City, including a police officer, a police press conference said. The suspect is in police custody. “At this point in time we are assuming that only a single shooter was involved and that this incident no longer poses any danger to the general public,” said the police officer in charge. He could not say anything about the motive for the act.

In the early afternoon (local time) there were first reports of shots in the mall, the police said. Emergency services would then have arrested a suspect very quickly. “I’d like to thank the shopkeepers and the people in the mall for responding so quickly and taking care of the people who were there,” said Boise Mayor Lauren McLean. There are more than 150 stores in the Boise Towne Square Mall. Boise, with a population of around 230,000, is the capital of the state of Idaho.
