Corona infections occurred in North Rhine-Westphalia after vaccinations in old people’s homes. As the WAZ writes, several residents were infected in a retirement home in Hagen. The residents received the first injection shortly beforehand.
As a spokeswoman for the city of Hagen says, this can happen because at least 50 to 80 percent protection is only developed seven to ten days after the vaccine has been administered. “In the meantime, you can still get infected, the spokeswoman said.”
The infected are now not allowed to receive the second dose because, for medical reasons, it is generally not advisable to vaccinate infectious people. It is still unclear whether the second vaccination will be made up.
