Bundesaliga-relegated Hannover 96 has finished its negative home series and brought the first victory in front of their own audience in the current season. The team of coach Kenan Kocak turned in the 3: 2 (1: 1) on Saturday against Erzgebirge Aue twice a residue and was the last of all teams from the top three German football leagues in this season for a home win. Hendrik Weydandt and Genki Haraguchi cheered most of the 26,200 spectators at the Hannoveraner Stadion with their goals in the 75th and 90th minute.
In a thrilling second-round match, John Patrick Strauß put the visitors from Saxony in the lead in the 16th minute. The 23-year-old fullback lifted the ball from the right corner of the box into the left corner. Hannover did not think much at first, but after a corner came the hosts still to compensate. Captain Marvin Bakalorz pushed through energetically and hit the head (32.). The 1: 1 gave the 96ers tailwind. Emil Hansson (35) and Weydandt (39) did not take their chances. After the break Bakalorz shocked the hosts with an own goal (49th) first. Then Hanover, however, clearly increased and was allowed to cheer for the matches of Weydandt and Haraguchi.
The VfL Osnabrück meanwhile ended the winning streak of Holstein Kiel and continued its own run success. The newcomer from Lower Saxony prevailed in Kiel with 4-2 (1: 2) and has now been without defeat for seven games. The Kiel, however, had to accept the first defeat after three wins. Under-21 international Janni Serra (10th) with his fifth goal of the season and Alexander Mühling (42.) by hand penalty had put the long-superior hosts twice in the lead. Marcos Alvarez (31), with a converted penalty and a direct free-kick four minutes after the break, equalized twice. David Blacha (63) and Bryan Henning (77) made the second VfL away win of the season perfect.
Due to the red card for Jonas Meffert (81.) because of referee injury Holstein had to play the final phase in outnumbered. With the win, the Osnabrück have now contact with the promotion places, Kiel, however, missed the connection to the front ranks. Holstein dominated the game over long periods. Especially in the first half, the Schleswig-Holsteiner earned numerous opportunities and could have led to break quite clear. The wonderful free-kick from Alvarez shortly after the change to 2: 2 brought the Kieler out of step. The Osnabrücker won more and more duels and were always dangerous at counterattacks. In the end, they still had bad luck with pole shots.
In the meantime, Spielvereinigung Greuther Fürth ended the small dry spell thanks to Branimir Hrgota and stopped the upswing of VfL Bochum. The Franks won after three games without victory thanks to the double by Hrgota (17th and 87th minute) 3-1 (1-0) against Bochum and strengthened with 22 points from 16 games their position in the secured table midfield. The first lead by Hrgota equalized Silvere Ganvoula (70 '), but Jamie Leweling (90' + 3 ') made it all clear after the second Hrgota goal. The VfL, who previously scored eight points from four games without defeat, is with 17 points further in the area of the relegation zone.
Bochum had in front of 8875 spectators in the first round, although more possession, but was rarely mandatory. The former Bundesliga professional Hrgota met after a cross from Harvard Nielsen to 1: 0. The hosts, who missed Marco Caligiuri (hamstring) and Paul Seguin (yellow card suspension) and Daniel Keita-Ruel initially remained outside, were actually on the trigger in the second half. But in a risky side change of Tobias Mohr splashed Bochums Danny Blum, who hung up for Ganvoula. But Hrgota and Leweling made the late Fürth success still clear.
