Harry Styles on the differences between music and acting

For pop star and actor Harry Styles, making music and acting are two very different things. “Making music is a very personal thing,” said the 28-year-old in Venice on Monday. “I think while there are aspects of acting where you draw on personal experience, mostly you’re pretending to be playing someone else.”

Styles has a role in Olivia Wilde’s thriller Don’t Worry Darling, which premieres at the Venice Film Festival on Monday night. He is currently on tour for his album “Harry’s House”.

But there is one thing in common when it comes to making music and making films. “I think the fun part is that in both of them you never feel like you know what you’re doing,” said the Brit. “I’ve been making music for a little bit longer, so that feeling is a little bit more familiar, but what I like regarding acting is that I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing. And that’s quite a lot of fun.”
