Exclusive translation: Russian President Vladimir Putin has pulled a fat general out of retirement to help his country’s battle in the region, a report said, after losing other top officers since Russia’s invasion of its neighbor in late February.
The huge new military commander, identified only as General Pavel, 67, will lead Russian special forces in the region after the former commander was seriously wounded in an artillery barrage, according to the Daily Star.
A senior intelligence source said Putin was “dumping the barrel” by calling in the general, who weighs about 280 pounds and is said to eat five meals a day, all washed down with at least a liter of vodka, and needs two sets of body armor to cover his surroundings.
The general is said to be a veteran of the Russian war in Afghanistan in the 1980s.
The source added to the Daily Star, “Most of the top leaders were either killed or injured [بوتين] The best and most solid in action during the fighting in Ukraine, so he resorts to sending second-class officers to the front who do not last long.”
“Putin is like a mafia boss who no one can refuse to obey,” the source continued. If a retired general gets a message from Putin that Mother Russia needs you to fight in Ukraine, there’s not much you can do.
And the source added: “There is no escape from Russia thanks to the sanctions,” referring to the restrictions imposed by the rest of the world on the Russians due to the invasion.
