Saturday, around 6 a.m., when the employees of a Delhaize in Liège arrived at their place of work, they were surprised to find an individual pushing his shopping cart through the shelves of the store. The man was doing his shopping, quietly, in the dark.
When he saw the staff members, the morning shopper ran away. The Liège police were immediately notified of the facts and it was ultimately the men of the anti-banditry platoon of this same Liège police who arrested the suspect.
Expected explanations
Deprived of liberty on Saturday, he was, at 12.15 p.m., still heard by the investigation services who were trying to understand how the suspect was present in the store at 6 a.m.
Had he let himself be locked up in the Delhaize the day before? Did he break in? His explanations are awaited with the greatest interest. The magistrate on duty at the Liège public prosecutor’s office will then decide whether to request an arrest warrant from the investigating judge.
