The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has warned of the clandestine marketing of pizzas and pizzas bases, through an online sales channel called https://www.pizzaragon.com which, according to information from the own web, had eight workers in our country.
The sale of these products has been carried out mainly through food establishments in the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Asturias, Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Madrid, Murcia, Navarra, the Basque Country and Valencia.
What has motivated this new security alert is that serious breaches have been detected that prevent guaranteeing the safety of the products made by this company.
The Aragon Food Safety and Environmental Health Service was aware of the impact during the inspection work in a restoration establishment, and put it in communication with AESAN. From the latter, the corresponding action protocols were applied for the official control of electronic food commerce, verifying that the website did not meet the requirements of the Law on services of the information society and electronic commerce.
As a result of the investigations, the alleged workshop was located where the pizzas were made, a private domicile that did not have the mandatory sanitary registry and that presented serious hygienic-sanitary deficiencies.
The suspension of
the food activity, as well as the declaration of non-suitability of the products found.
On February 11, confirmation of the cancellation of the domain name was received and one day later the SEPRONA investigation services provided a list with the names of the establishments of destination of the food prepared in the sealed facilities.
This is a preventive action and there is no record of any problem caused by the products covered by this alert. .
