A team of Denali Therapeutics, an American biopharmaceutical company, published in the journal “Science Translational Medicine“(Science Translational Medicine) published their recent progress. In previous animal experiments, DNL201 attacked lung and kidney cells in some animals and caused swelling. This human trial is mainly to confirm its safety, not its effectiveness.
In this human trial, 150 people took the drug for 28 days, of whom 122 were healthy adults and 28 had Parkinson’s disease. The results showed that LRRK2 was indeed reduced, and the side effects that were originally feared were not seen.
