The Ministry of Health and Population revealed a package of measures to ensure the prevention of the virus monkeypox Disclaimer:
1- There are no exceptional measures regarding the disease so far, and the epidemiological situation of the disease is periodically evaluated, according to the study of risk assessment and the global epidemiological situation.
2- Active surveillance of the disease and dissemination of case definition in health facilities
3- Immediate reporting in the event of a suspected medical condition that meets the definition of the case
4- When a diseased case of monkeypox is suspected, it is immediately isolated
5- Full adherence to infection control procedures within health facilities, including:
• washing hands
• Wearing all disposable personal protective equipment (gloves – mask – face protection – eyeglasses – medical gowns).
• Cleaning and disinfection
• Proper handling of bed linen
• Safe disposal of medical waste
6- Follow-up of those in contact with the suspected or confirmed case, with continuous health follow-up for a period of 3 weeks.
