Abdel Ghaffar added, in a telephone interview to the “Al-Hekaya” program, with the media, Amr Adib, that from January 21 to 27 of the same month, Egypt will receive the doses of the drug that has obtained approval from the Egyptian Medicines Authority for emergency use, as the Egyptian government has contracted sufficient doses. For 50,000 injured, it will be given to people with corona who have chronic diseases, and it will be taken by injection inside the hospitals of the Ministry of Health and university hospitals.
And a spokesman for the Ministry of Health added: “There is a drug that is taken orally, Merck, and 4 or 5 Egyptian companies have applied to manufacture it locally, and it will be available in hospitals within 3 weeks.”
Regarding drug experiments on patients, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health explained that there is a law issued for clinical research, that would regulate drug experiments when using drugs, and the process must be subject to a set of conditions without any deviation from the law in question, because deviation from the law is rejected by the Ministry of Health. Health and Population, and the property must pass through the Ethics Committee of the Ministry of Higher Education before using it.”
