(Reuters) – The U.S. Coast Guard said it is looking for a seven-person helicopter that was unable to return from a tour off the Hawaiian island of Kauai on Thursday evening.
The owner said the helicopter was overdue at 6:06 p.m., the Coast Guard said in a statement on Friday: https://bit.ly/2SqlOYy.
"They said the plane should be back from a tour of Kauai's Nā Pali coast at 5:21 p.m. with a pilot and six passengers," he said. Two of the missing passengers were minors.
The helicopter was equipped with an electronic tracking device, but no signals were received.
An official from the Joint Rescue Coordination Center described the weather conditions as challenging.
