The Brussels-Capital Region currently has 113 professions identified as critical functions, for which employers are struggling to recruit. Construction, IT, education and personal care are particularly concerned.
By “critical function” is meant trades which represent a quantitative problem (there are too few candidates), a qualitative concern (the candidates do not have the right qualifications), or even difficult working conditions (dangerous work , night shift, precarious status, low pay, etc.). “Some functions may not appear as critical at the statistical level but have been flagged as such by the Actiris advisers in the field“, specifies the Brussels Regional Employment Office in a press release.
Finding work more easily
He insists on the fact that choosing a job in short supply means increasing your chances of finding a job. The employment office also points out that pursuing training or studies leading to these shortage occupations greatly increases the chances of finding a job. To obtain a job in these positions, there are also professional training courses with Actiris partners or work-study training (secondary or higher).
