The scandal erupted after during the performance of the song “Mary, Magdalena” Philip Kirkorov climbed on the cross, in which there was a woman. Responding to outraged comments, the singer apologized to those whose feelings he hurt with his number.

Opinion Hieromonk Photiusknown for his participation and victory in the show “Voice”, remains, however, unchanged: he is convinced that Kirkorov’s actions indicate that he is not a Christian, but only uses religious symbols to shock.

As Hieromonk Photius explained in an interview MK: “I think that the act that was in the Kremlin, without unnecessary hypocrisy, can be considered sacrilege, it cannot be regarded in any other way … Thank God that he apologized. But… Most of the people who attend his concerts are people of adult worship. As a rule, such viewers have well-established, traditional values. When they look at such a show, a production where Kirkorov not only ascends to the cross, but lies down, but also a woman in this cross … This is a double desecration of our Christian values.
