A dishonest customer to say the least was arrested on Thursday when he left the Géant Casino store in Monthieu, in Saint-Etienne, in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region. The 33-year-old man was indeed caught stealing a household robot worth 300 euros.
If it had gone through the checkout, there was only one packet of water, at 1.56 euros. Unfortunately for him, his stratagem did not work since he was arrested by security agents, who were watching him.
Indeed, according to France Bleu, this customer like no other was not at his first attempt. Two days earlier, he had used the same technique to steal a pressure cooker, and the day before, he had already stolen a suitcase and a vacuum cleaner through the automatic tills.
The man was taken into custody.
