[이코노미스트 마켓in 이승훈 기자] Jeong Ji-soo, the second daughter of HL Group chairman Chung Mong-won, and Kang In-chan, the only son of former anchor Ji-yeon Baek, got married on the 2nd.

On the afternoon of the same day, they lit up at a religious church in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The religious church is where President Chung is an elder. About 700 family members and acquaintances of the bride and groom attended the wedding.

In particular, the Pan-Hyundai family was located in one place. Chung Mong-joon, chairman of the Asan Foundation, Chung Mong-yoon, chairman of Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance, Chung Mong-gyu, HDC chairman (Korea Football Association chairman), and Chung Mong-seok, chairman of Hyundai General Metals, who were the host of the bride Jeong Ji-soo, visited the ceremony. Hyundai Group Chairman Hyun Jeong-eun, wife of the late former Hyundai Group Chairman Chung Mong-hun, also appeared. The bride’s second cousin Chung Eui-seon, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, Chung Myeong, president of Hyundai Commercial, and Chung Tae-young, vice chairman of Hyundai Card, were also present.

This is the third time this year that the Pan-Hyundai family has gotten married. In February, the eldest son of chairman Mong-kyu Chung got married, and in April, the eldest daughter of President Myung-yi Jeong and Vice Chairman Tae-young Chung held a ceremony.

In addition, Hanjin President Cho Hyun-min, Korea University President Kim Dong-won, and actors Cha Hwa-yeon, Park Joong-hoon, Shin Ae-ra, Lee Jung-hyun, and Park Sung-woong also appeared at the wedding.

Prior to the wedding ceremony, Hong In-hwa, the spouse of former anchor Ji-yeon Baek and chairman Mong-won Chung, on behalf of the bride and groom, gave a short greeting to the reporters, saying, “Thank you for congratulating us.”

Former anchor Baek joined the company in 1987 and worked as an anchor at MBC News Desk for a long time, and Mr. Hong is also a former TBC (Oriental Broadcasting) announcer.

Chairman Chung Mong-won is the second son of the late honorary chairman Jeong In-young, the founder of HL Group. He served as the CEO of Halla Climate Control, Mando Machinery, and Halla Construction, took business management lessons from his father, and rose to the group’s head at the end of 1996.

The bride, Jeong Ji-soo, graduated from college in the United States and is currently working at HL Group’s American corporation. The groom Kang In-chan is known to be engaged in design-related fields after studying in the United States. The two are said to have been dating for about two years.
