Honda unveils its second electric car

A few months after unveiling a concept that said nothing about its technical sheet, Honda lifts the veil on the Chinese version of its first electric SUV, which finally has a name. The e: NS1 is the second model of its kind at Honda after the “e”, and for the time being, only the Chinese market is affected by this launch.

The e: NS1 will go on sale in the spring of 2022, but Honda has already confirmed that it will be offered subsequently in the rest of the world, starting with Europe. And that’s just the start, since this SUV will be followed by several other models in the new e: N.

Honda has unveiled several concepts, which give clues to upcoming electric models.

Ce e: NS1 adopts a 68.8 kWh battery pack, obviously much superior to that of the small Honda e, of which it nevertheless shares the (largely stretched) platform. It powers a single 204 hp engine and allows a little less than 500 km on a load according to the homologation cycle.

Within five years, Honda plans to launch nine new electric cars around the world. However, not all of them will necessarily be intended for the European market.
